Moros Protocol is a dark sci-fi roguelite FPS where your consciousness is transferred to brain dead bodies as you fight for survival aboard an alien-filled warship.
Set aboard The Orpheus, a derelict warship lost in deep space, in Moros Protocol (Previously called DarkVerse Rogue) players awaken with no memory, guided only by a mysterious voice through blood-soaked corridors teeming with horrific enemies. The game combines the fast-paced combat of classic ’90s shooters with roguelite elements and Souls-like boss battles. Its unique custom renderer creates a distinctive visual style, mixing pixel art with dynamic lighting and low-poly designs to craft an immersive, atmospheric environment.
Players can tackle the challenge solo or (in the full game) team up in drop-in co-op, adapting their tactics with various weapons and augments found during each procedurally generated run. Death is merely a stepping stone to progression, as players learn, upgrade, and push deeper into the ship’s mysteries.
The Moros Protocol demo features a big chunk of gameplay with around nine procedurally generated levels to play through, complete with lots of augments and weapons, a boss fight and some encounters with a very intriguing antagonist. The crunchy 3D pixel art visual style looks great too and the combat is satisfyingly visceral. Highly recommended.
